JCL

What is the Junior Classical League?

JCL is a local, state, national, and international organization of students interested in ancient Rome and Greece.  At Seven Oaks, we learn about the languages, mythology, history, literature, and culture of the ancient world and participate in fun events such as Fall Latin Day, certamen, and conventions.

JCL will meet weekly on Thursdays at 3:45-5:00 in room 203 starting this Thursday (8/17).  After last year's successful hosting of a state JCL certamen (a classical Quiz Bowl) event, we also have plans to start certamen (a classical Quiz Bowl) teams, which are based on level of Latin study.  Interested students can speak to Mrs. Thorpe or Mr. Bowe for more details or just plan to attend the meeting for more information.  JCL members will pay dues of $15 which includes state and national dues and a club T-shirt to be designed by students!  Click on the QR code to reach our Google form to sign up.  Join us at JCL and find out more!
