The Kitchen is becoming a reality!
We asked, and you delivered. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the Seven Oaks community, the Kitchen Initiative is now fully funded through Phase 3.
What began as a vision for serving our students has moved into construction—and we are getting closer to serving our first meals.

Building More Than a Kitchen
At Seven Oaks, we believe nourishing the mind and nourishing the body belong together.
Our Kitchen Initiative is a carefully scaled, multi-phase project designed to bring scratch-made meals, culinary education, and farm-to-table learning to our students.
This vision will unfold in four intentional phases:
✓ Phase 1: Planting the Seeds (Completed) – Equipment secured and planning underway
✓ Phase 2: First Fruit – Infrastructure installed and scratch meals begin
✓ Phase 3: Growing Strong – Full cafeteria service and culinary electives
☐ Phase 4: Seed to Table – Greenhouse and agricultural programming
Each phase builds responsibly on the last, ensuring stewardship, sustainability, and long-term impact.
We are not just building a kitchen.
We are cultivating health, skill, gratitude, and community.

Construction Update
Work is underway! The concrete pad has been poured, the ceiling has been reenforced, and the hood vents have been installed. Electrical work is being completed now, followed by installation of the walk-in cooler and completion of the doorway connecting it to the kitchen.
Our serving lines have also been ordered, and we have mapped out the flow of meal service.
What happens next?
OUR GOAL: FIRST MEALS IN JANUARY
Then:
Our goal is to begin serving one meal per week starting in January.
We are intentionally starting small. The second semester will give us the opportunity to learn, adjust, and make sure our systems are working well—from food preparation and service flow to payment processing, menus, and compliance.
With the infrastructure now in place, our goal is to learn as much as possible from weekly service as we prepare for the possibility of expanding to daily meal service next academic year.

Because of the extraordinary generosity of our community, the infrastructure needed to bring a food program to Seven Oaks is becoming a reality. Phases 1–3 are fully funded, but there is still more we hope to accomplish.
Phase 4: Seed to Table
The next phase of the Kitchen Initiative looks beyond the kitchen itself. Phase 4 will help bring our vision for greenhouse and agricultural programming to life, giving students opportunities to better understand where food comes from and connecting what happens in the kitchen with learning, stewardship, and service.
Lunch Assistance Fund
As we prepare to serve meals, we also recognize that purchasing school lunch may create a financial burden for some Seven Oaks families. Gifts to our Lunch Assistance Fund will help make meals more accessible to students who need additional support.
Our community has already done something remarkable. Together, we have built the foundation for a food program that once felt out of reach. Now we have the opportunity to make that vision even stronger—and ensure it serves our students and families well.
Naming Opportunity and Donor Crest
As we build this space for generations of students, we are offering meaningful naming and recognition opportunities.
One lead business partner will have the exclusive opportunity to name the kitchen, establishing a lasting legacy at Seven Oaks. In addition, donors at various levels will be recognized on a permanent donor plaque displayed within the space. These levels are set at $500, $1,000, and $2,500.
