All sixth through eighth graders at our school participate in the newly-established House System throughout middle school. Upon entering sixth grade or joining as a new student, they are sorted into one of four houses, named after iconic ancient Greek city-states: Athens, Sparta, Olympia, or Delphi. While comparisons to Harry Potter are inevitable, house systems have long been a tradition in English public schools, originally designed to provide a sense of family and belonging for students far from home. Today, our House System serves to create a close-knit community within the larger school, offering students opportunities to earn recognition not only for academic and athletic achievements but also for their character and citizenship, as demonstrated through our school virtues.
Throughout the year, students earn points for their house by excelling in class, participating in community service, athletics, theatre, and more, all competing for the coveted House Trophy awarded at the year's end. Each house organizes social events, service projects, and leadership opportunities, fostering camaraderie, school spirit, and healthy competition. The system is led by experienced faculty and overseen by the Dean of the Middle School, Mrs. Ruwe, ensuring that every student benefits from the sense of community, creativity, leadership, and service the House System promotes.
The quarterly socials for the 2024-2025 school year will be hosted by the following Houses:

Quarter II Winter Dance: House of Sparta
