Families across Ellettsville, and 8 surrounding counties seek out this smaller, values-driven environment, but demand now outpaces capacity.
As we celebrate our milestone 10th year, we face a turning point. To continue offering calm classrooms, strong character formation, and the safe, steady environment families trust, we must invest in updated resources, expanded space, and continued teacher support.

Seven Oaks Classical School is the first K-12 classical public charter school in the state of Indiana. We are engaged in an act of founding. Such foundings are rare, and they are rare because they are difficult.
Indiana charter schools do not receive any state tuition support until shortly before the school year begins, and they do not receive local tax support at all. Even then, we must cover the operational, capital, and indirect costs for facilities, furniture, books, teacher training, and computers.
Even with the state tuition support, public charter schools receive roughly two-thirds the funding of conventional public schools.

These are a few successes achieved with less funding than traditional public school districts receive. We do more with less. As a public community school, Seven Oaks Classical School receives no additional funding beyond the base rate as traditional public schools do. We must cover capital and other program and indirect and program costs independently.
