Theatre

Often theatre education is lauded for what it does for kids: builds their confidence, gives them a chance to succeed, and teaches the skill of working together. While we wholeheartedly believe in the value of these elements, we believe that a classical theatre education provides much more than that. Theatre is the art of storytelling, and in classical education we LOVE stories. We believe that stories give models of virtue, give a deeper understanding of the human experience, and particularly in theater where the students are required to step into the shoes of a character - teach empathy. This is why we are so picky about the stories we choose to tell. It is our promise to our families and actors that we will only ask our actors to be fully dedicated to a story that is worthy of telling. We are also dedicated to the model of public education by keeping our theater program accessible to all who wish to participate regardless of experience or skill level. At Seven Oaks, as long as you are one of the first 40 people to sign up within the age limitations, you will not be cut from a show after auditions.
