Grace Morgan - Gold Project

Congratulations to our 2023 Senior,Grace Morgan who will receive a Gold Award from the Girl Scouts this summer. Grace completed a self-directed community service project at Seven Oaks to satisfy the eligibility requirements for the Girl Scouts’ highest award.

Grace was curious to discover more about works of art and literature by under-represented minorities and/or persons of color. Specifically, she wanted to study these works with analytical techniques students use when exploring the classical canon. Grace researched several works and led a discussion for Seven Oaks faculty, staff, and students about American poet Phillis Wheatley and Puerto Rican artist Ramón Frade.

Seven Oaks has been blessed by Grace’s own creativity, too. She worked with Miss Teska to design a beautiful mural near the Refectory. The mural memorializes a quote from Wheatley’s poem, “On Virtue.”

Congratulations, and thank you, Grace!
