100% IREAD pass rate

For the second time in 4 years, Seven Oaks has achieved a 100% pass rate on the IREAD in third grade. This achievement is a testament to the diligent work of our third grade classroom teachers, our dedicated student services staff, and our summer literacy camp director. Even more impressive is the perseverance shown by your students, who tackled the challenge with good courage.

Seven Oaks has been teaching reading with an explicit phonics-based program since opening in 2016, before the "science of reading" and phonics-based reading instruction had regained national attention. As a public charter school, our enrollment is open to everyone, regardless of background or ability. Learning to read is not easy, and our systematic and immersive approach leads to the kind of slow and steady progress that makes a difference. When you combine that with a content-rich curriculum that provides a wealth of background knowledge in history and science as well as the very best novels and poetry in literature every day, it's a recipe for reading success.

If you're interested in learning more about our literacy curriculum, please join us at an upcoming community coffee for grammar school parents on Wednesday, September 16th.
