Each Shadow Day will last from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

All Kindergarten Shadow Days are full. However, you can still schedule a Thursday morning tour.

What happens on Shadow Day?

First, Dr. Stephen Shipp, Headmaster, will welcome families and students all together.

Next, each visiting student in grades 1-11 will be partnered with Seven Oaks Student Ambassadors who will accompany them all morning. Shadowing students will be matched with Ambassadors in their own current grades.

Prospective kindergarten students (ages 4 and above), along with their parents, will visit the kindergarten classrooms. Kindergarten teachers will welcome you and your child to join a classroom for an hour. Your child will participate in the morning lessons, according to his or her own comfort level. Your class will also attend music, art, or physical education.

Teachers will welcome the student visitors in each classroom. They will invite the shadowing students to participate in the day’s lessons, according to their own comfort level.

Then, Dr. Shipp will give parents an overview of the classical curriculum and answer your questions about life at Seven Oaks. Finally, you will get to tour the school and see the classrooms where your children are shadowing.

Visiting students are free to wear their regular school clothes. Children who are shadowing in grades 1-8 should bring athletic shoes for physical education and a jacket for outdoor recess. Children visiting in grades 1-2 should also bring a mid-morning snack.

NOTE: Attendance at a Shadow Day is not required in order to enroll at Seven Oaks.
