Admissions Overview for New Students

Beginning on January 8, 2024, current families may register for the 2024-2025 school year.

Beginning on January 15, 2024, new families may preregister new students, grades K-12, for the 2024-2025 school year.

Three simple steps:

The first step is getting the information you need to decide whether Seven Oaks is a good fit for your student. Charter schools are schools of choice. Seven Oaks offers an academically rigorous curriculum in a small-school setting. The Seven Oaks website is a great way to find out more about the school. Click here for information about visiting campus, including scheduling a school tour with the Head of School. If you decide to enroll, go on to step 2.

Enrollment begins with preregistration. Preregistration is simply a request for a seat in a particular grade. As a public charter school, enrollment is open. The school does not pick and choose who to admit. Instead, it accepts everyone who wants to attend, regardless of prior academic achievement, subject only to availability of open seats, following the process described below. Families just need to reside in the state of Indiana and live within driving distance of the school.

When the Initial Preregistration Period ends, the school will begin offering seats to those who have preregistered. When parents have been offered a seat, they will be able to log into their parent account in the school’s online enrollment portal and begin completing a checklist of registration forms. These forms give the school all the information that it needs to prepare the student’s file and place the student in a classroom.

Important Admissions Dates for 2024-2025

  • Jan 8 - Feb 23, 2024 - Re-Enrollment Period for Current Students

  • Jan 15 - Mar 4, 2024 - Initial Preregistration Period for New Students

  • Jan 26, 2024 - Last day to transfer for the 2023-2024 school year

  • Mar 5, 2024 - The start of rolling admissions for new students, where seat requests are processed in the order in which they are submitted

  • Mar 6, 2024 - Seat offers for new students who preregistered in the initial preregistration window; (if needed) public lottery to decide the order of admissions; the school will continue accepting students throughout the fall semester

  • Aug 13, 2024 - First day of school

Special Cases

Early Kindergarten Admissions Policy

Under Indiana law, students residing in Indiana must be at least 5 years of age on or before August 1 of the academic year in which they enroll in order to be automatically eligible for kindergarten. However, the law also allows schools to establish a policy for permitting exceptions. Seven Oaks will evaluate students who turn five (5) between August 1 and December 31 for kindergarten readiness. Students who turn five (5) after December 31 must wait until the following academic year to enroll.  

Admissions Preferences 

Siblings of current students and children of faculty and staff receive admissions preference status.  

Returning Students 

Enrolled students who indicate their intent to re-enroll are guaranteed a seat for the next academic year. The Re-Enrollment Period for the 2024-2025 school year runs from Monday, January 8, 2024, to Friday, February 23, 2024.

Withdrawal and Re-Enrollment 

Students may withdraw from Seven Oaks Classical School at any time during the school year. However, students who withdraw and then re-enroll must register as though they were a new student.
