Mr. Tyvoris Thomas has been an educator for eight years and a school administrator for nine years. Mr. Thomas graduated from Savannah State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual and Performing Arts. Mr. Thomas also holds a Master of Education degree in Adult Education and Community Leadership from Armstrong State University.
Thomas moved to Bloomington, Indiana, in Fall of 2018 after accepting the position of Assistant Headmaster at the Seven Oaks Classical School. Before moving to Indiana, Mr. Thomas served as the Dean of Students at Savannah Classical Academy Charter School for five years. Mr. Thomas was named Staff Member of the Year in 2018. While in Savannah, Thomas dedicated his time to instruction support for staff. Thomas also focused on guiding and directing teachers on classroom management skills and ensuring that teachers and students were equipped with diversity and culture training. He implemented and evaluated intervention programs that addressed the needs of at-risk students. Thomas also took the lead as the faculty liaison for student government and athletics while in Georgia.
Mr. Thomas serves as a valued member of professional organizations including the National Educators Association (NEA), Professional Association for Georgia Educators (PAGE), Georgia Professional Standards Commission, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Thomas is a certified member of the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) and is a certified School Resource Officer.
Tyvoris Thomas is committed to establishing and maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, and staff.
